Yeap, that’s right. Apparently Daemon Tools has been seduced by the darkside. They have signed with WhenU and now have spyware in their (once) cool program. According to the article, it’s only from version 4 that has the problems, so if you still have an older version, I suggest you stick with it!! My current installed version is 3.47 which seems to serve it’s (non-spyware) job very well. Anyway, read all about the great iso bastion falling below.

Has your PC ever died? Have you ever been right in the middle of something, that is really important (which is always the way, according to what is known as “sod’s law”) when it goes? This guide/article is really interesting and not only details the top reasons for PCs giving up the ghost, but also has some pretty good no-nonsense preventions too.
I think that when most people’s PCs die they just stop working (BSD or series of POST beep codes or something equally annoying.) However it is quite funny when you hear some of the stories that readers have sent in in this article.. The idea of a virtual rocket launcher in half life taking out somebody’s PSU is my favourite =)

OK, this is an interesting article. It details a couple of the proposed new ideas for Media Player 11. There is however no mention of RSS, and therefore podcasts. I do however know that the new beta version of Microsoft Outlook, at the moment, has the capability to subscribe to RSS so I guess it should go without saying also that RSS should be present. We should bare in mind also that this version of Media Player for Windows XP is cut down in features, compared to the Vista version. I must admit using Media Player to subscribe to podcasts would make my life a lot easier. Because I have a Windows Mobile PDA that I use as an MP3 player and Juice to download the podcasts, combining the functionality of the two would be a godsend. I guess it could only mean good things for podcasters and podcasts, and is also hopefully a sign of where technology is heading, if Microsoft are willing to invest..!
There is apparently going to be a collaboration between Microsoft and MTV (Urge) to create an online music store, comparable to iTunes. As iTunes is the market leader with a lot historical prevalence, I guess Microsoft/MTV have to do something pretty special to grab a piece of the online music sales market - however the fact that even with the new version, Apple’s FairPlay protection format can not be converted to the DRM format, means that the iPod is still not fully supported.
There has also been a whisper that Media Player 11 is due to be released before the end of June, although knowing Microsoft, I guess it’s probably more prudent to aim for the end of August before a properly working version is available (>ouch!<)

This is probably one of the most insteresting reports I’ve read and heard about in a long time. Not only is it appearing all over the net on blogs, but also you can listen to a podcast about it too on The Gadget Show
Take mobile phones (in particular 3G) and add a socialogical & psychological slant to it.. What are people doing at the moment in the world with their mobiles and how are they going to use them in the future to interact with each other? Find out the answers and have a damn good read too..
