HOME FORUM NEWS THEMES SMC CONTACT

As you may know if you are a regular reader of my ramblings, I am a bit of an avid podcast listener and really enjoy listening on the bus, at home and anywhere else. So when the release of a new social podcasting site for listeners was announced I thought I’d check it out - although I’ve left it a few weeks to settle down first.

The coolest thing I’ve found so far is the ability to search for your favourite podcasts, combine them into a channel and either play them at the site, which is streamed, or create an RSS file or playlist. I’ve taken my channel and dropped it straight into Juice.

I will continue to test over the next week and let you (and the owners) know of any problems I find or tips/tricks in getting the most out of it.

Just an update to my findings so far with the website.

It is a little difficult initially to work out what is going on with the menus, where things are and how to even add podcasts. Once you get used to the slightly odd way of doing things however, it is really cool. The best feature is the ability to add or take away podcasts from podshow+ and when you next fire up Juice or whatever other pod-catcher, the changes are all automatic and the new podcasts come down. It makes it really easy to track everything you want to listen to form one place, rather than having to trawl through tons of RSS feeds looking for content. Also with Juice, it drops them all into one directory which is better for uploading to my Windows Mobile device.

So thumbs up so far, let’s hope the interface improves a bit over time though with a bit more “user friendliness”
