Just over a week ago, Microsoft announced plans that they intended to make a hostile takeover of Yahoo. With the offering on the table, and Yahoo’s executives under pressure, they rejected the offer saying Yahoo isn’t worth the $44.6 Billion Microsoft are offering, but is worth more like $57 Billion. So the stakes are upped. And to add a further twist, Yahoo are thought to be in talks with AOL, according to the Times. Of course, all of this may just be stalling tactics, trying desperately to find another buyer (What’s the matter, don’t trust Microsoft or something?) and may just be delaying the inevitable.
