As I reported yesterday Toshiba were on the verge of dropping the HD-DVD format and the players / recorders but hadn’t announced anything officially. The news had been leaked from the inside by a Toshiba employee. Well after yesterday saw Toshiba’s stocks rise because of the impending news I think they have in their wisdom decided to announce officially sooner rather than later to capitalise on this.
